Why donate? The Canberra Islamic Centre (CIC) is a focal point for all Muslims in Canberra, providing a mosque, a gathering hall and functions for community and general use. The CIC also represents the community to the media and local and federal government agencies. The CIC plays an important role in the community, and inshaAllah will continue to do so and more, with donations and hard work from it's members and well wishers. What would I be donating to?All building fund donations go towards the continued building of the centre. Currently the centre is consists of a completed main building which includes a hall, kitchen, prayer room and library. A courtyard is being built to provide extra room for general external use, but will also be used initially to provide extra space for when the hall and prayer room overflows, as it does periodically at functions such as the last Iftar and Chand Raat. You can view images of the building progress here. Please visit links on this site for more information about all the good work that is being done in the CIC. This site changes on a daily basis, so please return from time to time to find out more. How do I donate?Donations $2.00 and over are tax deductible (in Australia only).
