Ramadhan Radio CIC Kids Competition

There will be up to 20 Winners

Prizes presented on Eid Day at the Canberra Islamic Centre

If you are aged 5 to 15 years you can enter - all you need to do is:

1. Listen to Radio CIC on 89.5 Valley FM every week day evening from Monday to Friday 4.45pm to Maghrib starting on Monday 7 Sep 2009.

2. Each day a question will be asked by the Radio CIC presenter between 5-5.30pm. Write the question down and work out the answer each day.

3. Place you answer sheet with your name and contact details in the Special entry Box at CIC each Saturday evening’ during the Iftar Dinner.

4. The winners for each week will be announced on EID morning at CIC and you will be presented with your prize. There will be 5 Winners for week 1 and 5 Winners for Week 2. Prizes include CDs, Gift vouchers, cash, books and much more!

5. Also listen to Radio CIC each week day between 5 and 5.30pm and call the studio during a song break and you can win a prize just for calling this number 62966 895. If you cannot get Radio CIC on your radio at home then you can log into the CIC Website (islam-australia.org) each day starting from 4.45pm to Maghrib to listen to the program.

Wk 2 questions:

Mon- Name the 3 holiest Masjids in Islam

Tues- What happened on Laylatul Qadr?

Wed- What is the name of the stepping stone on which Prophet Ibrahim stood whilst building the Kaaba and where is it located?

Thur- After how many days and nights did Prophet Noah's Ark weather the flood and where did it finally rest?

Fri 18 Sep - Listen to the final program of the Kids competition for this question on Valley FM between 5-5.30pm

Mon 7 Sep - What do Muslims say before starting anything?
Tues 8 Sep - What Surat of the Holy Quran does not begin with Bismillahir-Rahmanir-Rahim?
Wed 9 Sep - Who is the first Prophet of Allah?
Thur 10 Sep - In Islam we have lots of prophets, how many are mentioned in the Holy Quran?
Fri 11 Sep - Name the two hills between which Hajer wife of Prophet Ibrahim ran in search of water for her baby son Ismail. And how many times did she run between those 2 hills?

Radio CIC celebrates it’s 1st Anniversary - Congratulations to the Radio CIC Team!

The Executive Committee would like to extend hearty congratulations to the Radio CIC Dream Team for arriving at this 1st year milestone. This is indeed an enormous achievement made possible only by the dedication and commitment of the team of presenters. The EC would like to take this opportunity to thank Valley FM 89.5 for their support over the year in hosting Radio CIC.

We are proud to say that Radio CIC is Canberra’s first and only regular Islamic community radio program. Radio CIC reaches out to the valley community every Wednesday 5.30 to 7pm with a weekly format that provides listeners with news, music and current affairs from the Muslim world as well as interesting topics on Islam and the latest news of functions and events taking place at the CIC.

InshaAllah! Radio CIC will be broadcast daily during the holy month of Ramadan starting from Thursday 20 August through to Eid-ul Fitr at the following times:

Monday to Sunday, 4.45 pm to Maghrib

During Ramadan, each day’s program will be streamed live on the CIC Website and replayed in the evening at 9:30pm.
