Iftar tasks
Before and after every iftar, a lot of volunteer work is required to get the centre in an operational state. Sadly,
only a few members end up cleaning the whole centre. Please volunteer 15 minutes of you time to help clean up after every iftar. Many hands will make light work, and you may even enjoy the knowledge and experience of helping your fellow community members.
The tasks required are:
1.
Disposing of waste food, cups and plates correctly. Everyone needs to pitch in and clear their tables after every meal.
2.
Wiping the tables. A good number of volunteers would be around 10 people. With this number of helpers, the task should only take 15 minutes per person.
3.
Mopping the floors. After every iftar there are usually some areas that need mopping, more so that other areas due to food and drink spillage. Please put up your hand to help mop the floors, this task should also take no longer that 15 to 20 minutes per person.
To volunteer, please visit a cleaning station, set up towards the end of iftar. The community looks forward to your help, inshaAllah.
Eid tasks
With the coming of Eid, inshaAllah, the centre will need some helpful hands to prepare for the celebrations, and the clean up. Without your help, some events may not take place. Please talk to an EC member about volunteering for:
1.
Eid preparations. This includes preparation for Eid ul Fitr prayer, children's activities, refreshments, barbeque etc.
2.
Clean up. This includes cleaning after the activities and barbecue.
Please indicate your interest soon, so preparations can get underway in earnest. The more volunteers, the better the celebrations, inshaAllah.
CIC Clean Up Day
A big thank you to all the volunteers who turned up to help clean up the CIC, your work is appreciated by one and all. The CIC grounds got a good mowing, and most of the shrubs and weeds have been cleared. Inside, the CIC got a thorough vacumming and mopping, and the windows and kitchen are now squeaky clean! Again, thanks to all the volunteers. Now that we've started the ball rolling, the next clean up will be easier, and hopefully as much, if not more, fun! View pictures here.
